In Christ

3 Gifts Found in Christ:

-A new way to be human.  The fact that Jesus doesn't just dust me off a little bit and scoot me on my way the rest of my life until heaven.  But rather, that He asks me to die...daily even.  In no way does He force or coerce me; it is completely my choice.  But dying is the only way to really find life.  The real, eternal life He offers in John 10:10.  A life of real meaning and peace.  And once I've died, I am created anew.  A new person.  A new heart.  Daily.  The breathing out what's dead and breathing in what is Life, expelling lies and taking in Truth.  "All the heart really knows-is what it knows by heart."
I am thankful.

-I am thankful for being adopted by a perfect Father.  I love my earthly Daddy, fiercely.  But my perfect Father loves perfectly, gives perfect gives to an imperfect daughter.  While I was still a mess of a thing, He chose me to be His.  I was chosen!  When the rest of the world seemed to pass right over me; Jesus gave up His life to choose me.  I was adopted; even when I misbehaved badly, embarrassing to His name.  Even when I was ungrateful for the adoption.  I was adopted; even when there was not much to be gained on His part.  How can a healed and new heart not rejoice???

-Real, lasting friendship is built on communion.  Not on convenience.
The body of Christ is not separated by miles, income or skin color.  I am so thankful for those friends that I commune with; the friends I "do life together" with.  Such a gift!

Therefore, let us all be thankful that we are a part of an unshakable Kingdom and offer to God worship that pleases Him and reflects the awe and reverence we have toward Him.  Hebrews 12:28

What are you thankful for today?
